City Council Recognizes Random Acts of Kindness At its meeting of October 23, 2006, the Brooklyn Center City Council recognized persons who had been nominated to receive a Random Acts of Kindness award during 2006. This year 12 persons and one club were nominated to receive recognition for their Random Acts of Kindness. Random Acts submitted included Relay for Life program coordination and efforts, picking up Mary Shimshock trash in neighborhoods, cutting a neighbor's lawn, Diane Sannes and Sue Tegg delivering Meals on Wheels, volunteering at a nursing home, providing transportation to youth event, weekly visits by Pastor, planting the gardens around the city, helping the elderly, assisting a motorist in a stalled vehicle, and creating an understanding of the diverse culture in the community. The City Council extended its appreciation to all who participated in this year's Random Acts of Kindness recognition, to those making nominations, and especially to those who have Arthur Lenius contributed to the quality of life here in Brooklyn Brooklyn Center High School Center.
