HomeMy WebLinkAbout2023-059 CCRMember Jerzalc introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2023-59 RESOLUTION DECLARING MAY 21-27, 2023 NATIONAL PUBLIC WORKS WEEK IN THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, Public Works services provided in our community are an integral part of our citizens' everyday lives; and WHEREAS, the support of an understanding and informed citizenry is vital to the efficient operation of public works systems and programs such as engineering, water, wastewater, storm drainage, streets and highways, parks and central vehicle fleet maintenance; and WHEREAS, the health, safety and comfort of this community greatly depend on these facilities and services; and WHEREAS, the quality and effectiveness of these facilities including their planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance are vitally dependent upon the efforts and skill of Public Works personnel. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that May 21-27, 2023, as "National Public Works Week" in the City of Brooklyn Center, and I call upon all citizens and civic organizations to acquaint themselves with the issues involved in providing our public works and to recognize the contributions which Public Works personnel make every day to our health, safety, comfort and quality of life. May 8, 2023 Date ATTEST: City Clerk - Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Butler and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Butler, Graves, Jerzalc, Kragness, Lawrence -Anderson and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
