Commission and the meeting commenced at 7:30 P.M.

Sylvia Winkelman, Peter Simmons and Audre Mossberg.
Chairman Mossberg stated that the October 8th and the
November 12th minutes will be approved in January, 1971.
Members of the Conservation and Planning Commissions met
jointly to discuss items of mutual concern. Discussion was
centered mainly on the Comprehensive Plan following which an
audio visual presentation was made by Commissioner Price on
three wildlife natural areas in Brooklyn Center, one of which is
• Palmer Lake Park Basin.
The joint meeting between the Conservation and Planning
Commissions ended at 9:30 P.M.
The regular meeting of the Conservation Commission followed
at which time plans for the joint F.T.A./Conservation Program
at Northport School was Ciscussed. Ml. Don Gunderson volunteered
to coordinate this program for his wife who is ill.
The Commission next received a presentation of the summary
by Commissioner Winkelman of the Kylawn Task Force work area.
At the last Kylawn Task Force meeting, it was decided to erect
three signs on the southwest corner, northeast corner and central
east just off the apartment area. These signs will read: "Wild-
life Area" and another sign reading: "No Motorized Vehicles
Allowed". These signs should be installed by late fall.
Fencing was also discussed and it was decided to use posts
in the heavy traffic areas and a hedge of prickly ash, sumac,
etc. on the rest of the border areas. These would serve a dual
purposes: that of keeping out vehicles and providing sortie
protection for wildlife. It would also be more in keeping with
the appearance of the area then a fence. It is hoped by the
Spring of 1971, the upgrading of the Kylawn Airport area will be
completed.
