the Crystal council has appointed
the organization of a Conservation
The Committee was informed by Mrs. WinXelrma.n that the Brooklyn
Center conservation Commission need only be consulted about major
decisions ar issues.
Th -Kayor of Crystal attended the Metropolitan Airport
Coruaission meeting and presented the Kylawn Proposal to the
Commission, Following a discussion of the Ham sake site, 14,,A, C.,
agreed to send out a lease proposal for the lands in the Crystal
Airport area,

The Committee also discussed sortie ways of marking the area
for study and identification. Mass Voegeli suggested one possi-
bility might be to make naps available showing numbered areas
with an ex" lan.atior, of what could be observed there. A number
of cormr.-I.t.tee members :11'el.t 'tthe need for leaving some areas
unidentified ,o that Indi.vi.duals, especially school, children,
could learn through their own discovery.
in regard to fencing, Airs. Winkelman was advised that this
must gait uxntil the :lease proposal is agreed on between the
Pletropoli.tan AirO)ort Commission and Crystal and Brooklyn Center..
She indicated concern with the use of the area after expected
pvbi.L:ai I:y in the t-~7o local papers.
A motion was made bar Mrs. Winkelman to map out two trails
for Use this fall; one, ti.i►A road which starts at 61st and
kloble and goes south to the townhouses and two, the other
along 60th and Decent. These are natural paths already in the
area. - P:r. Bechetti seconded the motion and it was carried.
Mr. :Koester suggested asking Mr. Myshak to have his scouts
inventory t1he two trails. A need was seen for someone to give
direction for time and Bare of the proposed area once the local
papers print their stories. Mr. Hammer's and Mr. Bloedel's
tia-mes will be printed in the papers along with their school
phone numbers and they will be able to direct those groups or
