Conservation Commission in the City
of Brooklyn Center in the County of
Fennevin and State of Minnesota
February 17, 1970
The Conservation Commission was called to order by Chairman
Audre Mossberg at 8:05 P.M.
Roll Call: Chairman Audre Mossberg, Commissioners Sylvia
Winkelman, William Price, Peter Simmons, and Bonnie Snater were
present. Also present was Robert Haarman, staff assistant.
Motion by Simmons, seconded by Price to approve the minutes of
the regular meeting of February 3, 1970, as submitted. The motion
carried unanimously.
Announcements included delegating individual Commissioners for
attendance at various public and civic meetings of interest to the
Commission including the democratic and republican caucuses being
held February 24, 1970.
The remainder of the meeting consisted of a discussion by the
Commission of various subjects receiving their consideration,
including:
1. a review by the SecrRtary of the status of apartment
developments in the City of Crystal contiguous to
Brooklyn Center and property within the jurisdiction
of the Metropolitan Airports commission at Crystal airport;
2. contacts being made by individual commissioners with pri-
vate and public organizations having similar interests;
3. discussion and consideration of a list of proposals for
preliminary investigations and actions submitted by
Commissioner Peter Simmons.
4. establishing Saturday, February 28th, as a day to view
the conditions of and observe environmental effects
within some of the city's park land;
5. review of a recent Council consideration with Councilman
Theodore Willard regarding an air pollution matter.
(Councilman Willard arrived at 900 P.M.)

Chairman Mossberg directed the individual Commission members
to give some thought to the crganizra.t:ion of task groups as
specified under the Ru? = a'-d_ ?r_ ttdur.Ps section of the Resolution
creating the Conservvtion Commission.
A motion was made by Bonnie Snater, seconded by William
Price, to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously. Adjournment
came at 10:10 P.M.
