Conservation Commission in the
City of Brooklyn Center in the

March 25, 1971
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Audre Mossberg
at 8:02 P.M.
Roll Call: Chairman Mossberg, Commissioners Dorff, Almen,
Winkelman, Snater and Gross. Staff members present were: Tom Loucks.
Chairman Mossberg then made a number of announcements in
regard to correspondence received from the Nine Mile Creek Asso-
ciation; a meeting on March 31, 1971, at the Brooklyn Center
Library in regard to Durnam island; a movie to be shown in regard
to creeks on April 8, 1971; and the Evergreen School P.T.A. conser-
vation program.
Mrs. Mossberg then announced that the tree and shrub planting
information has been prepared by Mr. Johnson and is brought to the
attention of the Commission for their examination.
Mrs. Snater then backgrounded the commission on the glass
collection pick up conducted by Evergreen School.
Commissioner Gross gave a presentation in regard to Durnam
Island and some of the information he has gathered in regard to
the island and the process and procedure to develop that parcel.
Mr. Loucks then indicated some of the negotiations and progress
that has taken place in regard to the Mississippi River project
south of the interchange of interstate 94 and Lyndale Avenue.
Mrs. Winkelman then gave a report in regard to the progress
of the Kylawn Park area landscaping project.
Motion was made by commissioner Dorff and seconded by
Commissioner Almen to adjourn. The motion carried unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 10:05 P.M.
