February 18, 1971
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Audre Mossberg
at 8:00 P.M.
Roll Call: Chairman Mossberg, commissioners Winkelman, Snater,
Gunderson, Price and Ahlman.
New Commission member Ahlman was introduced by commissioner
Mossberg.
It was then announced that Chairman Mossberg would be repre-
senting the Commission at a meeting of the heads of the community
organizations sponsored by the Jaycees.
Mr. Thomas Johnson and Harriet Vogel from MECCA made a
presentation on the environmental rights bill they are sponsoring.
The Commission moved to support the concept of the citizen's right
to protect themselves from pollutants and will write a letter to
Mr. Johnson as evidence of their support. There were several other
bills involved in this concept and the Coraiission felt the need
to study these further to determine which one was the best one.
Mr. David Anderson of Twin Lake Improvements Association
presented a plan for a study of Twin Lake. The Commission supported
it and encouraged Mr. Anderson to include the whole Shingle Creek
watershed area in the study. Ne requested a letter from the
Commission supporting this effort and indicated what he felt was
unique characteristics of this area.
Motion was made by Commissioner Price and seconded by
Commissioner Snater to adjourn. The meeting adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
