Minutes of the January 4e 1971, Meeting of the
Steering Committee for the Preservation of the
Area 'hest of Kylawn Park
The meeting was called to order at 7;45 P.M. A motion was
made and seconded to have Paul Tjare (are architect. i Environmental
Parks) spear on Environmental Park Desi ffi Monday, January 25th
at Fair Oaks School at 700 P.Mm
invitations will go to the Park Conmissi.oners of both
cities (Brooklyn Center and Crystal), Planning Commissions,
Conservation Commissions and any interested people from the schools.,
Gene Nagel will take care of the Park Commissioners and Carl.
Bloedel will inform interested school personnel.
Sylvia Winkelman brought up the idea of picnic tables being
used in the southwest corner of the park area. The question was
raised whether or not this etas: a goad idea because of the chance
of fires, etc.. and some members opposed it. Farther informat _on
will be needed so we can discuss it further at a future date.
The sign posts are in and the sign boards are being
routed and painted and will be put up by the end of January.
it was further reported that snowmobiles are still using
the area and it was decided to watch for the develppmen.t of
further laws.
Are agenda for the next meeting will be to decide on an
overall plan and a rough time table for yearly projects.
The next meeting will be held following the talk by Paul.
