HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-024 CCRMember Ed Nelson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. - 00-24 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING ENGINEER'S FEASIBILITY REPORT AND CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS. 2000-04, 05, AND 06, 73RD AVENUE, HUMBOLDT AVENUE TO CAMDEN AVENUE STREET, STORM DRAINAGE, AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council has previously directed the preparation of an engineer's feasibility report regarding proposed improvements to the streets, storm drainage system, and public utilities for 73rd Avenue (from Humboldt Avenue to Camden Avenue) as described in said report; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared said report, and recommends that the proposed improvements be considered; and WHEREAS, said improvement project is being developed and coordinated with the City of Brooklyn Park; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park have agreed to split the project costs in accordance with a Cooperative Agreement signed by both cities; and WHEREAS, costs have been estimated for these proposed street, utility, and storm sewer improvements; and WHEREAS, it is proposed to assess a portion of the City of Brooklyn Center's share of the cost of the street improvements against all Brooklyn Center properties within the project area and a portion of the storm sewer improvements within designated sections of the project area; and WHEREAS, the cost to be assessed to the properties is estimated to be: STREET IMPROVEMENT STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENT 2000-04 2000-05 $52,320 $17,040 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: A public hearing shall be held on the 28th day of February, 2000, in the City Hall Council Chambers at 7:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard to hear and pass upon said improvement project and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by said improvements will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to said improvements. 2. The City Clerk is directed to cause a notice of public hearing to be published in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing, and shall state in the notice the total improvement costs.
