its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 99-176
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH UNITED
STATES CENSUS
WHEREAS, the Census will be taken in the year 2000 and the City has received
a request to enter into a partnership agreement with the Kansas City Regional Census Center for
the 2000 count; and
WHEREAS, an accurate count of the residents of Brooklyn Center would be a
desirable goal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to enter into a non-binding
partnership agreement with the Kansas City Regional Census Center for the 2000 Census, to issue
a proclamation endorsing the Census in complete count efforts, and the City Manager be and
hereby is authorized to have the City of Brooklyn Center participate in activities such as
distribution of information regarding the Census in City Watch newsletters, the display of Census
2000 promotional materials, posting of Census jobs, identification of hard to enumerate areas in
the community, and seeking ways to publicize the Census count.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Debra Hilstrom
and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Myrna Kragness, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson, and Robert Peppe;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
