HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-134 CCRMember Ed Nelson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 99-134 RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR SECURITY CAMERAS AND AWARDING BID FOR ACCESS DOORS FOR NEW POLICE STATION 1998-09. WHEREAS, the City Council established Improvement Projects for Construction of a new Police Station 1998-09, WHEREAS, the City engaged architects Boarman, Kroos, Pfister, Vogel & Associates ( BKPV) to design and specify a security system for the new Police Station, including both closed circuit cameras and access doors, and WHEREAS, Bossardt Corporation, in its capacity as construction manager on the project, reviewed the design and specifications, and developed the bid documents to allow for the acceptance and/or rejection of bids for either closed circuit cameras or access doors, and WHEREAS, bids were received and opened on June 24, 1999, and have been reviewed by both BKPV and Bossardt Corporation as to compliance with bid specifications and compliance with budgeted costs for these building items, and WHEREAS, the bid received from Pinkerton Systems Integration for access doors has been found compliant and within the budgeted resources of the project, that bid being: Pinkerton Systems Integration 1301 Clover Drive Bloomington, Minnesota 55420 Access Doors $42,080.00 WHEREAS, the bid received for the closed circuit camera system and for access doors from KNR Communication Services Inc was not low bid for the access doors, and contained a bid for the closed circuit camera system that greatly exceeded the budgeted allocation for this item: KNR Communication Services Inc. 810 Tower Drive Hamel, Minnesota 55340 Access Doors $48,100.00 RESOLUTION NO. 99-134 Closed Circuit Camera System $80,300.00 WHEREAS, the bid received for the closed circuit camera equipment exceeded the budgeted resources for the project, and it has been recommended by both BKPV and Bossardt Corporation that the bid received for closed circuit cameras be rejected, and that camera items be obtained through a means of using existing workable equipment and acquiring camera items based on three quotes for individual items as needed, The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to proceed with development of the contract and the administration of the contract for Pinkerton Systems Integration for the access doors, and to reject the bid received for the security system and proceed to obtain quotes for individual portions of the system as needed and as funds are available. Myrna Kragness, Debra Hilstrom, Kay lasman, E Nelson, and Robert Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
