HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-143 CCRMember Kay Tasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 99-14a RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE REPLACEMENT OF WATER MAIN ON OLD 65TH AVENUE BETWEEN CAMDEN AND LILAC DRIVE, ON THE REGAL THEATER SITE, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center owns, operates, and maintains an 8 inch cast iron water main pipe on 65th Avenue (vacated) between Camden Avenue North and Lilac Drive; and WHEREAS, the City has experienced significant maintenance activity of said main due to aging and deterioration of the main; and WHEREAS, the property on and surrounding the main facility is currently under redevelopment and construction activity; and WHEREAS, said construction activity provides an opportune time to effect replacement of said water main; and WHEREAS, the developer of the property has provided a reasonable cost to the City to replace said water main. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that authorization to effect repairs by Centres Construction of Wisconsin, Inc. at a cost of $24,900.00 is hereby approved and funds from the, Water Utility Fund are hereby appropriated for said work. City Clerk Aayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Ed Nelson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Tasman, Ed Nelson, and Robert Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
