HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-145 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 99-145 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A PRELIMINARY TAX LEVY FOR 2000 APPROPRIATIONS FOR THE GENERAL FUND, THE STREET IMPROVEMENT DEBT SERVICE FUNDS, THE POLICE & FIRE BUILDING DEBT SERVICE FUNDS, THE E.D.A. FUND, AND THE H.R.A. FUND BUDGETS WHEREAS, The City of Brooklyn Center is annually required by Charter and state law to approve a resolution setting forth an annual tax levy to Hennepin County; and WHEREAS, Minnesota statutes require certification of a proposed tax levy to Hennepin County on or before September 15, 1999. . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. There is hereby levied upon all taxable property lying within the City of Brooklyn Center, a proposed tax levy of the following sums for the purpose indicated: GENERAL FUND 6,703,995 STREET IMPROVEMENT DEBT SERVICE-94 68,193 STREET IMPROVEMENT DEBT SERVICE-95 69,126 STREET IMPROVEMENT DEBT SERVICE-96 120,242 POLICE & FIRE BLDG DEBT SERVICE 783,012 TOTAL GENERAL FUND $7,744,568 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 208,495 HOUSING & REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY 149,516 $8,102,579 2. The City Clerk shall cause a copy of this resolution to be certified to Hennepin County so that said sum shall be spread upon the tax rolls and will be payable in the year 2000.
