HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-147 CCRMember Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: 7 RESOLUTION NO. 99-14 RESOLUTION SETTING DATES FOR TRUTH IN TAXATION PUBLIC HEARINGS AND A REGULARJD-ECEMBER CITY COUNCIL MEETING WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is annually required by state law to hold public hearings on its proposed annual budget and proposed property tax levies, and; WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is annually required by Charter and state law to adopt an annual budget at a public meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that the following meeting dates for the City Council be set: L An initial truth in taxation public hearing will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 6, 1999 to take public comment on the proposed property tax levy and the proposed bradget for the year 2000. 2. A continuation truth in taxation public hearing will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 13, 1999 to take public comment on the proposed property tax levy and the proposed budget for the year 2000 if the initial public hearing was not sufficient to take all comments. 3. A regular City Council meeting will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 13, 1999 at which the City Council will hold a public hearing and adopt the final payable 2000 property tax levies and final 2000 budget. Myrna Kragness, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Tasman, Ed Nelson, and Robert Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
