:Member Tim Roche introduced the following resolution and moved its
adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2009-69
. ZESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR
THE SAFE & SOBER COMMUNITIES GRANT

WHEREAS, be it resolved that the Brooklyn Center Police Department will
enter into a cocperative grant agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office
of Traffic Safety, for the project entitled SAFE & SOBER COMMUNITIES during the period
from October 1, 2009, through September 30, 2010; and
WHEREAS, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Department is hereby authorized to
execute such a;;reements and amendments as are necessary to implement the project on behalf of
the Brooklyn C enter Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Park Police Department is hereby authorized to be
the fiscal agen: and administer this grant on behalf of the Brooklyn Center Police Department;
and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that the Brooklyn Center Police Department is authorized to execute the Safe &
Sober Commtmities Grant.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Kay Lasman
and upon vote )eing taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Tim Willson, Kay Lasman, Tim Roche, Dan Ryan, and Mark Yelich;
and the following voted against the same: none ;
whereupon saiiI resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
