RESOLUTION NO. 98-97
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH MN/DOT
REGARDING UPGRADE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT TH 100 AND COUNTY ROAD 10
WHEREAS, the City desires to facilitate proposed Mn/DOT improvements to the traffic
signal systems located at TH 100 and County Road 10 in Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, Mn/DOT has prepared a Cooperative Agreement which details various cost and
other responsibilities of Mn/DOT, Hennepin County, and the City, superseding Cooperative Agreement
56828 which governed operations and maintenance of the existing signal systems; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Cooperative Agreement would renew the City's continued
responsibility for the cost of: electric power to the signals and street lights; relamping; and cleaning and
painting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn
Center, Minnesota that:
1. The City shall enter into an agreement with the Minnesota Department of
Transportation to remove the existing traffic control signals and install new traffic
control signals with street lights, emergency vehicle pre-emption and signing on
Trunk Highway No. 100 West Ramps at County State Aid Highway No. 10 (57th
Avenue North), and on Trunk Highway No. 100 East Ramps at County State Aid
Highway No. 57 (57th-Avenue North); and install interconnect on County State Aid
Highway No. 10/57 (57th Avenue North) from Shingle Creek Parkway to Trunk
Highway No. 100 East Ramps in accordance with the terms and conditions set forth
and contained in Agreement No. 77578, a copy of which was before the Council.
2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to execute the
Agreement.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, and Robert Peppe;
and the following voted against the same: none
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
