HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-163 CCRMember Kathleen Carmody introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 98-163 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR SITE GRADING AND SITE UTILITIES AND ASPHALT PAVING AND SITE CONCRETE FOR EARLE BROWN HERITAGE CENTER PARKING LOT EXPANSION WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for site grading and site utilities and asphalt paving and site concrete for the Earle Brown Heritage Center parking lot expansion, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer on the ninth day of September, 1998. NO BID $208,108.50 NO BID CS McCrossan NO BID ( $218,978.60 { NO BID Laudar NO BID $227,913.50 ) NO BID WHEREAS, it appears that Thomas and Sons Construction is the lowest responsible bidder submitting a combined bid on site grading and site utilities and asphalt paving and site concrete. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Thomas and Sons Construction Inc. in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for site grading and site utilities and asphalt paving and site concrete for the Earle Brown Heritage Center parking lot expansion according to the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer. RESOLUTION NO. 98-163 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders, the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retains until a contract is signed.
