RESOLUTION NO. 98-163
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR SITE GRADING
AND SITE UTILITIES AND ASPHALT PAVING AND SITE CONCRETE FOR EARLE
BROWN HERITAGE CENTER PARKING LOT EXPANSION
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for site grading and site utilities and
asphalt paving and site concrete for the Earle Brown Heritage Center parking lot expansion, bids
were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer on the ninth day of
September, 1998. Said bids were as follows:

WHEREAS, it appears that Thomas and Sons Construction is the lowest responsible bidder
submitting a combined bid on site grading and site utilities and asphalt paving and site concrete.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of City of Brooklyn Center,
Minnesota that:
1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a
contract with Thomas and Sons Construction Inc. in the name of the City of Brooklyn
Center, for site grading and site utilities and asphalt paving and site concrete for the
Earle Brown Heritage Center parking lot expansion according to the plans and
specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer.

2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders, the
deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the
next lowest bidder shall be retains until a contract is signed.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof
Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, and Robert
and the following voted against the same: n o n e ; Pe pp e
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
