HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-164 CCRMember Kahtleen Carmody introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 98-164 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR PARKING ELECTRICAL FOR EARLE BROWN HERITAGE CENTER PARKING LOT EXPANSION WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for parking lot electrical for the Earle Brown Heritage Center parking lot expansion, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer on the ninth day of September, 1998. Said bids were as follows: BIDDER BID AMOUNT Gephart Electric $54,200 Mayer Electric $57,870 Premier Electric $61,806 Heights Electric Inc. $63,300 Phasor Electric $64,000 Mendota Electric $69,104 Weber Electric $71,271 Honda Electric $73,343 Sterling Electric $78,900 WHEREAS, it appears that Gephart Electric, is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Gephart Electric in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for parking lot electrical for the Earle Brown Heritage Center parking lot expansion according to the plans and specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer. RESOLUTION NO. 98-164 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders, the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and next lower bidder shall be retained until a contract is signed. September 14. 1998 Date Mayor U ATTEST: City Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kav Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody,'Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, and Robert and the following voted against the same: none ; Peppe whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
