HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-059 CCRI Member Kathleen Carmody introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS. 1998-04, 05, AND 06, CONTRACT 1998-E, ST. AL'S NEIGHBORHOOD STREET, STORM DRAINAGE, AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS RESOLUTION NO. 98-59 WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project Nos. 1998-04, 05, and 06, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer on the 16th day of April, 1998. Said bids were as follows: Bidder Thomas and Sons Construction, Inc. Northdale Construction Hardrives, Inc. Arcon Construction Co. S. R. Weidema, Inc. Lan Dar, Inc. Barbarossa & Sons, Inc. Widmer, Inc. G. L. Contracting, Inc. C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. Bid Onened Amount $410,693.20 $415,208.34 $417,590.76 $455,354.60 $490,143.55 $497,557.40 $499,165.28 $508,733.86 $557,872.92 $571,609.10 $577,126.85 Corrected Total $417,556.76 WHEREAS, it appears that Thomas and Sons Construction, Inc. of Rogers, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Thomas and Sons Construction, Inc. of Rogers, Minnesota in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for Improvement Project Nos. 1998-04, 05, and 06 according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the city Engineer. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract is signed. 3.
