moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 97--187
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT,
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 1997-18, CONTRACT 1997-0, EMERGENCY
REPLACEMENT OF THE COLD STORAGE BUILDING ROOF
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project No.
1997-18, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer, on the
10th day of October, 1997. Said bids were as follows:

Palmer West Construction Inc. $59,900

WHEREAS, it appears that John A. Dalsin & Son, Inc. of Minneapolis,
Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that:
1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to
enter into a contract with John A. Dalsin & Son, Inc. of, Minneapolis,
Minnesota, in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for
Improvement Project No. 1997-18, Contract 1997-0, according to the
plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on
file in the office of the City Engineer.
2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to
all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of
the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a
contract is signed.
3. To finance this emergency repair, $37,000 is hereby appropriated from
the 1997 General Fund Contingency Account; $4,700 from the 1997
General Fund Division 446, Pool; and $2,700 from the 1997 General
Fund Division 440 Custodial Services.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor
thereof:
Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, and Robert Peppe;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
