November 15, 1972
The Park and Recreation Commission met in regular session and was
called to order by Chairman Don Reichal at 7:55 P. M.
Members present were Don Reich-U, Roger Pickering, and Henrietta
Anderson. Also present were staff members Gene Nagel, Ernie Mavis,
and Doug Bryant.
There being no quorum, those present held an informal discussion
of certain agenda items.
Chairman Reichel requested that attendance figures of Com-missioners
at Park and Recreation commission meetings be sent to all members
and the Mayor.
Pete Jacobsen, Chairman of the Palmer ?sake Task Force commented
that the Task Force had a couple items of concern with, the develop-
ment of the area.. These are to provide for recreation in the area
and. to protect the natural character of the basin. A discussion
ensued relative to recreational needs, possible conflicts of use,
imp'Lerrrentation of plans, and financing.
Director Gene Engel repo tedon the acquisition of tax forfeitec,
land at Kylawn and Freeway Parks. It was avggested that the Kylawn
addition be utilized as a combination arhoratum-nursery for the
park systela.
The report on the MRPA Conference was held over t1.11 the next
meeting.
