HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968 09-04 PRMMinutes of the proceedings of the Park and Recreation Commission of the CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER in the COUNTY OF HENNEPIN and the STATE OF MINNESOTA September 4, 1968 The Park and Recreation Commission met in special session and was called to order by Don Reichel, Chairman, at 8:00 p.m. Members present were Don Reichel, Les Hagen, Ruth Lind, Bruce Morrow, and Warren Olson. Also present was Eugene Hagel. The minutes of the regular meeting of July 17, and the special meetings of July 18, 23, and 31, 1968, were approved as recorded. The chairman announced that the meeting was called to discuss the proposal to support the City Band for Brooklyn Center. Mayor Phil Cohen, Band President, Jim Sutton, Vice-President Gary Konklec and Band Director Don Molde were present to comment on the proposal and answer questions. Motion by Ruth Lind and seconded by Warren Olson to support the City Band and recommend to the City Council that the necessary instruments and supplies he purchased. Motion carried. Fall program brochures were distributed to members present. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m. 40
