HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967 03-29 PRMMinutes of the proceedings of the Park and Recreation Commission of the City of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and the State of Minnesota March 29, 1967 The Park and Recreation Commission met in regular session and was called to order by Paul Bullen, Chairman, at 7:30 P.M. Roll Call: Present were Paul Bullen, Orlin Braun, Les Hagen, Frank Irvin, Ruth Lind, Bruce Morrow and Don Reichel. Also present: Gene Bagel. The minutes of the previous meeting of January 25, 1967, were approved as recorded. Ruth Lind reported on the Swimming Pool and Community Center study stating that the study was completed and will be ready to go to. C.I.R.B. within a week. One meeting was held with the architect and another meeting is scheduled to review and revise the architect's report. Bruce Morrow reported for the Ice Arena Committee as follows: All information and data has been collected and transmitted to the architect. Les Hagen, reporting for the Golf Course Committee, stated that the study has been abandoned due to lack of suitable land and excessive costs of feasibility studies and construction. The need for signs for the park was discussed. No official action was taken. The possible combining of the Anoka and Brooklyn Center School Districts and the subsequent implications on recreation programming and facilities was discussed. No official action was taken. The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M. 0
