P.M., Wednesday February 24, 1960. Me abet s present were Lss Hagen, Eleanor Mouser, Bruce Morrow, and Clifford Wellman. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as recorded. lIction made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Eleanor Mouser to recoruwnd to the Village Council that Mrs. Ralph L. (Jan) Johnson, 5730 Girard Avenue Nlorth be appointed to fill the unexpired term of William Anthony on the Recreation Ccimission. she term expires December 31, 1960. Motion carried. It T4as announced that a very successful Suburban Speed Skating Derby was helve at Northport Park, Saturday, January 30, hosted by the Park and Recreation Department. One hundred boys anti girls from twenty-two suburban co,;uniu,niti.es participated. Many fathers and mothers were also in attendance. i?ed Feather Suburban Vclleybnl.l tournaments for men and wom. are being, held next month at Columbia Heights and Crystal. Brooklyn Center will have several entries in both the men's and women's divisions. Motion made by Clifford Wellman and seconded by Bruce Morrow to recommend to the Village Council that the Director. be allowed expenses of 125.50 to attend the Annual Great Lakes District Recreation Conference in St. Paul' April 4.7, 1960. Motion carried. It, was reported that a request had been received for a boys boxing program. The Board agreed to deny the ri3quest on the grounds that there are many other program areas rc-f greater importance that should be considered first.
