The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as r ecom. ed.. The 2uperintendent reported in detail on the Tinter recreation programs a copy of which is hereby attached and made a part of these m.~n tes. Complete schedules of activities are being distributed to all school children in Brooklyn Center. The appointment of a new member to fill the unexpired term of William Anthony was discrssed. It aras recommended that a woman be appointed. No specific rPe.co. endations were made. It was noted that the terms of ?ors. Rouser and ?fir. Wingard expire December 31, 1959. Both have indicated a willingness to serve another term if appointed. SKATING RINKS The skating season runs generally from. December 15, through February 15th. This may vary somewhat depending on weather conditions. Music will be provided. No children allowed. FIGURE SKATING INSTRUCTIO'1111 For all boys and girls from first grade through high school who have taken beginning figure skating. All classes wibll be held at Northport Rink. Participants will be divided into separate classes according to age and ability. Six sessions $1.00 Registration fee. Register with attendant at Northport Park Shelter Building. Classes are scheduled as follows: Tuesday - December 22, - 2:00 P.M. Tuesday - December 29, - 2:00 P.M. Saturdays - January 9, 16, 23 February 6, - 10:00 A.M. HOCKEY For Boys 10, 110 12 years of age: Bantam Division 13, 14, 15 years of age: Pee Wee Division 'Free Hockey Movies will be shown at: Northport School, Friday December 11, 2:30 P.M. Willow Lane School, Saturday, December 12, 9:30 A.M. Earle Brown School, Saturday, December 12, 11:00 A.M. SPEED SKATING * Village - Wide speed Skating Derby for boys and girls 15 years and under will be held Saturday, January 16, 1:30 P.M., at Northport Park. Separate Classificatior for boys and girls - 11 and under, 13 and under, 15 and under. Village winners will be eligible to compete in the SUBURBAN SPEED SKATING DERBY, to be held at NORTHPORT PARK,SATURDAY, JANUARY 30, 1960. Sponsored by the Suburban Recreation ,Association. TAP - BATON INSTRUCTION For girls in first through sixth grade Classes held once each week for ten weeks. For beginners and intermediates. (continued other side) * Fee: $5.00 per child for ten lessons. * Girls must have balanced baton. TEEN AGE DANCES ( A Red Feather Program) Regular bi-week3..y dances for Junior High and Senior High' All dances held Friday nights at Earle Brown School # Membership open to all Brooklyn Center students. # Non-residents admitted when accompanied by a member. Nominal admission charge to dances. Junior High Schedule: 7:30 - 10:00 P.M. January 8-22, February 5-19, March 4-18, April 1 Senior Hiwh Schedule: 8:00 - 10.3-0 P.N. January 15-29, February 26, March 11-25, April 8-22 ADULT VOLLEYBALL # Separate teams and leagues for men and women • Sessions meet weel~ly at Earle Brown, Northport,.-and Willow Lane Schools.
