Tho regular monthly meeting of the Brooklyn Center Recreation Coin ds$ion
was held at the Village, Hit at 8t€* p.,M.. V,ednssday, July 22, 1959.
present were wank Irvin and Eleanore Houser.
The minutes of the previou meeting were approved as recorded.
The Superintendent reported that the Suburban Archery Tournament., hos6ed
by the €aok37n Center Recreation Dkpartments will be bald Monday evening.,
Jaly 27, at the Tieagle. Approximately one hundred entries are expacted.
Brooklyn Center's top archers will be competing in this annua event.
The Day Camping program will begin Monday, duly 27, and will run for two
weeks. Two hundred boys and girls will attend.
The Tee Shirt All-Saar games will be played Ft°i day, July 24, and the
championship games are scheduled for Wednesday] August Stn.
"Changing Times", - the Kiplingei Magazine, will report on Brooklyn Center's
Fark and Recreations program in the Augusta 3,959 Issue.
A. discussion of insurance for Tray Camp participants vacs held Members of
the Board felt that the insurance should be taken, and since this item was not
anticipated,* the cost should be paid by the Recreation Commission. Motion made
by Frank Irvin and seconded by Eleanore Mouser that the Recreation Commission pay
50.00 medical insurance on Day Camp participants. Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned.
