HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965 03-03 PKBDM37 Minutes of the Proceedings of the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the Countv of Hennepin and State of Minnesota March 3, 1965 The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order by Paul Sullen, Chairman, at 3:00 P.M. Roll call: Paul Sullen, Frank Irvin, and Janet Johnson were present. Also present: Eugene Bagel and Don Poss. The minutes of the regular meeting of November le and the special meeting of December 21 were approved as recorded. Member Frank Irvin introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR GRADING AT EVERGREEN PARK AND DIRECTING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS. BE IT RESOLVED by the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota as follows: 1. It is hereby determined that it is necessary and in the best interests of the Village that grading be done at Evergreen Park. 2. The plans and specificatiOnas from the worki ds prepared by the Village Engineer, are hereby approved. 3. Advertisement for the work shall be published in the Brooklyn Center Press, the date of publication not less than ten (10) days prior to the date for receipt of bids. 4. The deadline for receiving blAs shall be 2:00 P.M., April 12, 1965, at which time bids shall be opened by the Village Administrator, the Village Engineer and the Director of Parks. The foregoincl resolution was duly seconded by Janet Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Paul Sullen, Frank Irvin and Janet Johnson; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Member Janet Johnson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptions RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR TENNIS COURTS AND DIRECTING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS. BE rT RZSOLVED by the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Comer, Minnesota as follows: 1. It is hereby determined that it is necessary and in the lest interests of the Village that tennis courts bed constructed at Willow Lane Park. 2. The plans and specifications for the work, as prepared by the Village Engineer, are hereby approved. 3. Advertisement for the work shall be published in the Brooklyn Center Press, the date of publication not less than ten (10) days prior to the date for receipt of bids. 4. The deadline for receiving bids shall be 2:00 P.M., April 5, 1965, at which time bids .shall be opened by the Village Administrator, the Village Engineer, and the Director of Parks. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Frank. Arvin and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Paul Bullen, Frank Irvin and Janet Johnson; and the following voted against the s r none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion made by Janet Johnson: and seconded' by Frank Irvin to allow up to $300.00 for the purchase of program equipment for the teen program as outlined, payment to be made from the concession fund. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 P,M. Chairman Secretary
