HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964 11-18 PKBDMMinutes of the Proceedings of the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota Novunber 18, 1964 The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order by Paul Bullen, Chairman, at 4.00 P.M. Roll Call: Paul Bullen, Frank Irvin, and Janet Johnson were present. The minutes of the previous meeting of October 7, 1964, were approved as recorded. A report on the progress of the Belivue and Kylawn shelter buildings was given. A letter from the contractor was read which states that barring "any unforseen difficulties, we feel that these buildings can be completed and made ready to turn over to the owners by December 11." The lease covering use of Hipp property on west Palmer Lake Drive for a skating rink was approved and signed. The site plan for the development of Evergreen Park was presented. After discussion, it was momd by Francis Irvin and seconded by Janet Johnson, that the plan be approved. Motion carried. The suggested plan for conducting the swimming pool survey was approved. It was reported that the Lions Club will move and make .i fovements to the old Kylawn shelter so that it can be used as a warming house at Lions Club Park. A discussion of capital improvement expenditures for 196:5 was held. It was the consensus of opinion of the Board that the money should be allocated as follows: WILLOW LANE PARK Tennis courts, plus necessary miscellaneous improvements to include moving of the storage house (4912 - 69thl, pedestrian walkway, parking lot grading and barracades. $13,000. EVERGREEN AND FAST PALMER Grading, top-soiling, landscaping sub-drainage,, ball diamonds, miscellaneous apparatus, $25,000. M MA ANEOUS AND UNCOMMITTED Consideration to be given to blaoktopping of sulks„ play areas, and around buildings at Bellvue and Kylawn, seeding at Lions' Club, hockey lighting at Northport and Kyl.awn, underground water line and sprinklers at Grandview,, signs for all parks, land acquisition, swimming pool study,, and miscellaneous apparatus. $ 98950,.
