Minutes of the Proceedings of the Park Board
of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the
Countit of Henneni.n and State of Minnesota,
August 6 1964
The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order by
Paul Sullen, Chairman, at 8:30 P.M.
Roll Call: Paul Bullen, Francis Irvin, and Janet Johnson were
present.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 1 and the special
meeting of July 15, 1964, were approved as recorded.
A progress report was given on the shelter buildings at Kylawn
and Sellvue Parks. At this date it appears that the contractor
is ahead of schedule and the work is progressing satisfactorily.
It was agreed to resod the diamonds at Grandview Park, plan for
sprinkling next year, and restrict the use of the diamonds if
necessary for proper maintenance.
The pay rate and classigication of Herbert Dabmen was discussed.
It was agreed that his hourly rate should be increased to the
regular laborer's rate, and that the rate of light equipment
operator be paid if the employee operated equipment a minimum
of four hours in any day.
It was agreed to allow the use of a park to Dick Atanasoff per
his recraest for a "home" football field.. Goal posts will be
permitted at no cost to the Village, Concessions operation will
not be permitted, and if the lights are used the cost of
operation of the lights will be charged.
Miscellaneous reports were given regarding Bellvue ball diamonds
the Corps of Engineer - Palmer Lake proposal, Dome shelter
buildings, land acquisition south of Lions Park., and the meeting
with the County Park Superintendent.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 P.M.
