HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964 06-04 PKBDMF, Minutes of the Proceedings of the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Henm in End State of Minnesota June 4, 1964 The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order by Paul Bullen, Chairman at 3;00 P.M. Roll Calla Paul Bullen, Frank Irvin, and Janet Johnson were present. The minutes of the regular meeting of May 7, and this special meeting of May 12, 1964, were approved as recorded. Member Frank Irvin introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptions RESOLUTION APPROVING PLAN AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR SHELTER BUILDIDTG3 AND DIRECTING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS BE IT RESOLVED by the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota as follows: 1. It is hereby determined that it is necessary and in the best interests of the Village that shelter buildings be constructed in Bellvue and Kylawn Park. 2. The plans and specifications for the work, as prepared by Hodne Associates, Architecte/"Planners is hereby approved. 3, Advertisement for bids for the work shall be published in the Brooklyn Center Press* the date of publication not less than ten (10) days prior to the date for receipt of bids. 4. The deadline for receiving bids shall be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 1, 1964, at which time bids shall be opened by the Village Administrator, the Architect, and the Director of Parks. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Janet Johnson and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Janet Johnson, Paul Bullen and Frank Irving and the following voted against the same: noneg whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion: made by Frank Irvin and seconded by Janet Johnson to allow the dispensing of soft drinks by the Little League Minors at Grandview Park providing that such dispensing be done from the parking area, no trucks, trailed, autosmobiles, or concession equipment of any kind be allowed on turf areas, and that the area be kept completely free of litter. Motion carried. Motion made by Frank Irvin and seconded by Janet Johnson to deny the request of the Babe Ruth League to move the concession building at Grandview Park. Motion carried. A petition requesting recreation facilities and program supervision in the area of Brooklyn Center High School was received. The petition contained 128 signatures of residents living north of Highway 100. The proposed budget for 1965 was reviewed and discussed. Motion made by Janet Johnson and seconded by Frank Irvin to approve the budget as revised. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 P.M. (-'C l ' Chairman 223 SPwx. P-terry
