September 9, 1963
The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order
by Paul Sullen, chairman, at 7:00 P.M.
Roll Call: Paul Sullen, Francis Irvin, and Dallas Lawrence
were present.
The minutes of the regular meeting of August 8, 1963, were
approved as recorded.
The members of the Library Study Committee were present to discuss
the possible use of Park property for Library purposes. Following

the discussion it~was moved by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by
Francis Irvin to approve and recommend the use of that part of
`t Northport Park, lying east of Northport Drive, for a Library
building and parking facilit4es. Motion carried.
Member Francis Irvin introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK
(contracted by Park Board)
4MEREAS, Pursuant to a written contract signed with the Park
Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Gopher Fence and Mfg.,
Inc. has satisfactorily completed the following work in accordance
with said contract:
Fencing and Baseball Backstop Hood at Willow Lane Park.
WHEREAS, the Director of Parks has inspected and approved the
work and thereby recommends its acceptance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Park Board of the
Village of Brooklyn Center as follows:
1. The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted
and approved.
2. The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and
directed to issue proper order for final payment on said
contract, the total amount paid for said work being $1225.00.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Dallas
Lawrence and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted
in favor thereof: Paul Sullen, Francis Irvin and Dallas Lawrence;
and the following voted against the same: Prone, whereupon said
resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
Plans for the erection of the Dome shelter buildings at Willow Lane
Park and Garden City Scbhool were presented and discussed.
The tentative date fast B joust meeting with. the Crystal Park Board
to discuss the Twin Lake cobleme was awt for Wednesday, October 9.
The first organizational greeting of the Sw mg Facilities Study
Committee will be held in the near future. eta;, specific date was

it was announced that the Director and Foreman will attend the
Shade Tree Maintenance Short Course, sponsored by the University
of Minnesota, September 16 and 17.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
