HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962 06-04 PKBDMMinutes of the proceedings of the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the Countv of Hennepin and State of Minnesota June 4, 1962 The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order by Paul Bullen, Chairman at 7:30 P.M. Roll Call: Paul Bullen and Dallas Lawrence were present, Francis Irvin was absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of May 7, 1962, were approved as recorded. The Director reported on recent park developments stating that an order from the court allowing the deposit of the $4375.00 to cover the payment to Ronald Gray and Jeanette Rudeen has been allowed, and the matter is completed with regard to the Village. The major portion of grading repairs in Northport Park has been completed. Final grading and seeding remain to be done. Grading in Orchard Lane Park is progressing on schedule in spite of rainy weather. Blacktopping at Garden City, Northport, Happy Hollow, and Grandview has been delayed due to the rains. The Little League has completely sodded the South diamond in Garden City Park at their own expense. In regard to problems with the Northport and Garden City shelter buildings it was reported that the findings of an independent firm of structural engineers are being submitted by letter. According to the report, the fault appears to be with the manufacturer of the arches. Full information will be forwarded to the Village Attorney for whatever action may be necessary. A discussion followed concerning labor needs and capital improvements for 1963. No official action was taken. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 P.M. Chairman Secretary 225
