HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961 04-03 PKBDMMinutes of the proceeding of the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and the State of Minnesota. April 3, 1961 The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order by Paul Bullen, Chairman at 7:30 P.M. Roll Call: Paul Bullen, Francis Irvin, and Dallas Lawrence were present. The minutes of the regular meeting of March 6, 1961 and the special meeting of March 22, 1961 were approved as recorded. Motion made by Francis Irvin and seconded by Dallas Lawrence to approve the Shop Drawings for baseball and softball backstops as submitted by Anchor Fence Co. Motion Carried. Motion made by Francis Irvin and seconded by Dallas Lawrence to approve the contract with Anchor Fence Company for installation of backstops and recommending its signature by the Village Council. Motion Carried. Motion made by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Frnacis Irvin to approve the agreements with Little League Inc. for the use of the South diamond in Garden City Park; and with Babe Ruth Inc. for the use of the baseball diamond in Triangle Park. Motion Carried. Motion made by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Francis Irvin to approve the agreement with the Brooklyn Lions Club Inc. for the development of South Creek Park and recommending its approval by the Village Council. Motion Carried. Preliminary plans for the development of South Creek and Southeast Parks, as prepared by the Director, were approved. It was reported that 250 deciduous trees have been ordered and will be planted this Spring. It was also reported that the Concession fund has a cash balance of $1006.59.
