August 19, 1960 The Park Board met in special session and was called to order by Paul Bullen, Chairman, at 2:00 P.M. Roll call: Paul Bullen, Francis Irvin; and Dallas Lawrence were present. Member Dallas Lawrence introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR GRADING AND TOP SOILING WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Parks has reported that on August 15, 1960, at 3:30 P.M., he, together with the Village Administrator and the Landscape Architect, opened and tabulated the bids received for grading and top soiling at Triangle Park, and that said bids were as follows: Brooklyn Excavating Co., Inc. `14,400.00 Veit and Company $122492.75 Peterson Bros. $171850.00 Carl Bolander and Sons Company $13,700.00 NOWs THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The bid of Veit and Company is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted by a responsible bidder and said bid for the amount of $12,192.75 is hereby accepted. 2. The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Veit and Company for grading and top soiling at Triangle Park according to the plans and specifications. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Francis Irvin and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Paul Bullen, Francis Irvin, and Dallas Lawrence; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion by Francis Irvin and seconded by Dallas Lawrence to hire a bulldozer from Petrowski to work in Donnay and Northport Parks. Cost is to be approxi- mately $500. Motion carried. Motion by Francis Irvin and seconded by Dallas Lawrence to authorize payment of $799.95 for planning fees to Landscape Architect Robert G. Corwine, as per statement dated August 15, 1960, to be paid from the Bond Fund. Motion carried. Motion by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Francis Irvin to authorize payment of $42.50 for legal services to Village Attorney Donald Fraser, as per state- ment dated August 5, 1960, to be paid from the Park General Fund; and to bill Henry W. Lane for the cost of Extension of Abstract in the mount of $14.50. Motion carried. It was announced that the awards for the condemnation of Northeast Park property were as follows: Rudeen-Gray $3750.00 Rosso $3850.00 It was stated that $100 of the Rosso award was for additional property taken by the Village for street purposes. The Board agreed to accept the awards. The meeting was adjourned at 3:00 P.M. Chairman Secretary
