December 14, 1959
The Park Board met in special session and was called to order by Paul Bullen,
Chairman, at 4:00 P.M.
Roll Call: Paul Bullen and Dallas Lawrence were present. Francis Irvin was
absent.
Member Dallas Lawrence introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE
OF CERTAIN LAND FOR PARK PURPOSES
BE IT RESOLVED by the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center,
Minnesota as follows :
1. It is hereby determined that the acquisition of lands
hereafter described for park purposes is necessary and
in the public interest.
2. The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorised and
directed to enter'Into the purchase of such lands, such
agreements .to include the following:
Parcel #1
A. Legal Description: The North 660 feet of the East
one-half of Lot 51, Auditor's Subdivision No. 309,
Section 25, Township 119, Range 21, Hennepin County,
Minnesota (l Acres)
B. Owners: Harold A. Winther
Pauline Winther 816 - 69th Ave. No.
C. Price: One thousand two hundred fifty dollars
(91250.00)
D. Date of Closings On or about December 31, 1959
t. Date of possession: On or about December 31, 1959
F. Said agreement shall provide that the owner will provide
a warranty deed to said property.
Parcel #2
A. Legal Description: The East 165 feet of the South
660 feet of Tot 37, Auditor's Subdivision No. 309,
Section 25, Township 119, Range 21, Hennepin County,
Minnesota (2* Acres)
B. Owners: Lloyd R. Moody
Myrtle H. Moody
821 - 73rd Ave. No.
C. Price: Two thousand five hundred dollars (62500.00)
D. Date of Closing: On or about December 319 1959
E. Date of possession: On or about December 31, 1959
F. Said agreement shall provide that the owner will provide
a warranty deed to said property.

provide a warranty deed to said property.
3. The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and directed
to complete said purchases according to the terms of said agreements.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Paul Bullen and upon vote
being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Paul Bullen and
Dallas L&Wience; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said
resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
Motion made by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Paul Bullen that the Superintendent
be directed to purchase fourteen flood lights and lamps at a cost not to exceed
$581.02, to be paid from the bond fund. Motion carried.
Motion made by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Paul Bullen that the superintendent
be directed to purchase materials for wiring the hockey rink at Willow Lane Park
at a cost not to exceed $831.80, to be paid from the bond fund. Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 P.M.
