HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959 05-04 PKBDMMinutes of the proceeding of the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota May 4, 1959 The Park Board met in regular session and was called to order by Paul Bulleny Chairman, at 8:00 P.M. Roll Call: Paul Bullen and Dallas Lawrence were present. Francis Irvin was absent. The minutes of the regular meeting of April 62 1959 and the special meeting of April 20, 1959 were approved as recorded. Motion made by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Paul Bullen that the preliminary plan for the development of the Cahlander property be approved and that Land scape Architect Robert G. Corwin be authorized to proceed with the grading plan for said park. Motion carried. Motion by Paul Bullen and seconded by Dallas Lawrence to approve for payment the statement of Don Fraser for legal services. Motion carried. The superintendent reported that a letter had been received from Arthur A. Logefeil representing property owners in the Northeast Park. They have collectively submitted a price of $1,500.00 per acre for the land requested. No official action was taken. It was also reported that Mr. Fraser has contacted the U of M with regard to the Gleason appraisal of the Triangle. A meeting will be set up with representatives of the University and the Park Board to discuss purchase of the Triangle after all appraisals have been completed, Members of the Brooklyn Lions Club were present to discuss further plans regarding development of a Lions Club Park or improvements in several of the parks. No official action was taken. The meeting was adjourned at 10:30 P.M. t hairman
