HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 12-15 PKBDMMInutes of the proceeding of the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota December 150 1958 The Park Board met in special session and was called to order by Paul Bullen, Chairman, st 8:00 P*M. Roll Call: Paul Bullen, Dallas Lawrence, and Francis Irvin were present* Motion made by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Francis Irvin to recommend to the Village Council that the park property located at 65th and Drew Avenue be deeded to the Osseo School Distriot. Motion carried. Member Dallas Lawrence introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptions RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR GRADING AND TOP-SOILING WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Parks has reported that on December 15, 19589 at 3s30 P,Mo, he, together with the Village Administrator and the Landscape Architecto opened and tabulated the bids received for grading and top-soiling at Northport and Rice Parks, and that said bids were as Follows: Carl Bolander and Sons Co. Brooklyn Excavating Co. Imc. M. E. Kraft Co. Inc. Park Construction Co. Veit and Company NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: $38,110.00 26,5Z,1.50 36,600,00 38,500.00 29,885.00 Park Board of the Village of 1. The bid of Brooklyn Excavating Co., Inc• is deemed to be the lowest and best bid submitted by a responsible bidder, and said bid is hereby accepted, 2. The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and dir- eotad to enter into a contract with Brooklyn Excavating Coo,, Inc. f6r grading and top-soiling as stated in the specifications. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Francis Irvin and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Paul !Bullen, Dallas Lawrence, and Francis Irvin; and the following voted against the same.: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted, Member Dallas Lawrence introduced the following resolution and moved its adoptions RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE CP CERTAIN LAND FOR PARK PURPOSES BE IT RESOLVED by the Park Board of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. It is hereby determined that the acquistion of the land hereafter described for park purposes is necessary and in the public interest. 2, The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract of purchase for such land, such agreement to include the following: A, Legal Descriptio n Oxit-lot 11, Doiinay s Brook Lyn Gardens Third Addition. Section 23, Township 119, Range 21, Hennepin Ccurty, Minne sotae B. Owners: L. A. Donnay Geraldine D. Donnay Co Price r Three Thousand Four Hundred Twenty-three Dollars- and twelve cents ($3,423.12) D. Date of closings on or about December 31, 1958 E. Date of Possessions On or about December 31, 1958 F, Said agreement shall provide that the owner will provide a warranty deed to said property. 3: The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and directed to complete said purchase according to the terms of said agree- ment. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Francis Irvin and upon vote being taken thereof the following voted in favor thereof: Paul Bullen, Dallas Lawrence, and Francis Irvin; and the following voted against the same: None,. whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
