of the Village of Brooklyn Center in the
County of Hennepin and State of Minnesota
August 11, 1958
The park board met in special session and called to order by Paul
Bullen, Chairman, at 7s30 P.M.
Roll call: Paul Bullen and Dallas Lawrence were present and
Francis Irvin was absent.
Member Dallas Lawrence introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoptions

OF CERTAI1T L6.NDS FOR PARK PURPOSES
BE IT R 3SOLVED BY THE PARK BOARD OF THE VILL!iGE OF BROOKLYN
CENTER AS FOLL01TS:
1. It is hereby determined that the acquisition by the Park
Board of the lands hereafter described ~ror park purp*ses is
necess-ry and in the public interest.
2. The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into contracts of purchase for such lands,
such agreements to include the following:
A. Legal Description
Outlot 1 in Pearson's Northport 2nd Addition: Outlots
10 31 10, 11 and 12, Pearson's Northport 1st Addition
Subject to easements and protective covenants of record.
B . Owner:
Donald C. Edberg, single
C. Price.
One thousand dollars ($1,000.00)
D. Date of closing:
On or about September 1, 1958
E, Date of possessions
September 1, 1958
F. Said agreement shall provide that the owner will
provide a warranty deed to said property.
3. The officers of the Park Board are hereby authorized and
directed to complete said purchases according to the terms of
said agreement.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Paul Bullen
and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof:
Paul Bullen and Dallas Lawrence; and the following voted against the
same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and
adopted.
Member Francis Irvin arrived at the meeting at this point.
Motion made by Dallas Lawrence and seconded by Francis Irvin
that the preliminary plans for the development of Northport Park
and Rice Park be approved and that landscape architect Robert
Corwin be authorized to proceed with the grading and top soiling
plans for said parks. Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 900 P.M.
