HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958 03-17 PKBDMF, VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER PARK BOARD MEETING March 17, 1958 MINUTES A special meeting of the Brooklyn Center-Park Board was held at the Village Hall, 7:30 P.M., Monday, March 17, 1958s Members present were Paul Bullen, Dallas Lawrence, and Frank Irvin. Members of the board agreed to allow up to $800.00 for the purchase of a truck for the Park Department. The Superintendent reported that the lease on the University Triangle has been extended to March 15, 1959, and that the University has granted ipproval to the board to allow a Carnival to be held by the Jaycees on the property from May 31 to June 4, 1958. The Superintendent reported on.'developments regarding the Cameron property. A letter from attorney Robert Speeter teas presented, refusing an offer from the board to purchase the entire tract, less the seven platted lots, for #30,000. On the recommendation of Village Attorney Don Fraser and Mr. Bud Gleason, another appraisal -ill be obta4ned. Mr. Elmer Keefe has been hired to appraise the property. It was agreed that the following offer be made to Mr. Morris Evans, 5049 Osseo Road: 1.12 acres @ $1,800. per acre $2,016.00 Compensation for septic tank & drain field 234.00 Total $2,250.00 It was agreed that the following offer be made to Mr. Raymond Kortz, 5053 Osseo Road: .15 acre @ $1,800. per acre $270.00. Motion by Irvin, seconded by Lawrence, that the park board purchase the following described property at the price of $3,800. Motion by Lawrence, seconded by Irvin, that owners, Askea, Carlson, Hagen, end Magnusson be contacted and offered the appraisal price ofr property desired by the Park Board. Motion carried. Motion by Lawrence, seconded by Irvin, that the Park Board purchase the following described property, including the house, at the price of $10,800: COM AT A PT ON THE E LINE OF LOT 12 DIS 387.67 FT N OF THE SE COR THEREOF TH N 460.33 FT TO THE SORT COR OF LOT 11 THE 1AT 192.5 FT TH S 848.0 FT TO THE S LINE OF LOT 12 THE E 100 FT TH N 387.67 FT TH E 92.5 FT TO BEG LOT 12 AND 17 AUD SUB 57 Owner: Joseph C. tivild, 4712 - 69th Avenue North. Motion carried. Motion by Lawrence, seconded by Irvin that the following offer be made to Mr. Willard E. Erdman, 4702 - 69th Avenue North, for that part of Parcel 3600 lying north of the south 155 feet: .49 acre@ $1,700* per acre. $833. Motion carried. Motion by Irvin, seconded by Lawrence to table action on the Kathryn Forcier property (Freed-2800, Auditor's Subdivision 57). Motion carried. The following owner's selling prices were presented: Schafbuck property - asking price $25,000. Dorn property - asking price $23,500. No action was taken. The appraisal of Southeast property by Mr. Earl Dorn was presented and reviewed. It was agreed that the appraisal prices of Gleason and Dorn be averaged, and the average price be offered to the owners at a meeting to be held the week of Monday, April 14, 1958. 5D The meeting was adjourned.
