PARK BOARD 1,MPETING
February 3, 1958
MINUTES
The regular monthly meeting of the Brooklyn. Center Park Board was held at
the Village Hall, 8:00 P.M., Monday, February 3, 1958. Members prevent
were Paul Bullen, Dallas Lawrence, and Frank Irvin. Minutes of the previous
meeting were read and a pproved.
Motion by Lawrence, seconded by Irvin, that the quotation submitted by
Northbrook Hardware for 32 gallons of paint at $4.89 per gallon be accepted.
Motion carried.
The hiring of a full-time park maintenance man was discussed. The
superintendent was instructed to contact Mr. Sienko with regard to salary
as proposed and report to the Board.
Motion by Irvin, seconded by Lawrence, that the Park Board puchase the
following described property, including x,11 buildings located on said
property, for the price of $11,500.
That part of Lots 12 and 13, Auditor's Subdivision No. 57
described as follows: All of lot 13 except the westerly 75
feet of the southerly 135 feet thereof and the West 16.5
feet of the Southerly 495 feet of lot 12.
Motion carried.
Mr. Gleason, Real Estate Appraiser, reviewed his appraisal of the property
known as Southeast Park. It was agreed that purchase prices for the
property would be offered as follows:
Rear part of lots - $8.00 per front foot
Lot located on Bryant Avenue $6009
Small, land-locked parcels - .053 per square foot
It was agreed that the owner at 5043 Osseo Road be allowed to purchase
twenty-five feet to the rear of his lot. The balance of the property to
be purchased by the Park Board.
It was agreed that a surveyor be engaged to set stakes and establish
boundaries at Rice Park.
It was agreed to have an appraisal made on the Joseph Wild house.
Mr. Bullen announced election of officers for the Board for 19580 Motion
by Lawrence, seconded by Irvin, that the present officers be re-elected.
Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned.
