PARK COMMISSION
October 3, 1957
MINUTE'S
A special meeting of the Brooklyn Center Park Board was held at the Village Hall
7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 3, 1957. Members present we-re Paul Bullen,
Dallaw Lawrence, and Frank Irvin. Minutes of the previous meeting were read
and a-proved.
The superintendent reported that the appraiserts report would be ready by the
following week, and that all organizations in Brooklyn Center had been contacted
with regard to the first citizen's committee meeting on October 9.
Motion by Irvin, seconded by Lawrence, that the Village Council be requested
to approve the two mill tax levy for park purposes for the year 1958. Motion
carried.

Motion by Lawrence, seoonded by Irvin, that the Village Council be requested
to authorize a bond issue referendum in the amount of $400,000.00 for the
purpose of acquiring and developing park and recreation areas, and that the
council be asked to suggest a date for the referendum. Motion carried.
The Park Board met with the Village Planning Commission to review the findings
of the park survey and to outline plans of the board for acquiring and
developing park lands.
The meeting was adjourned.
