VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER
PARK COMMISSION
August 2, 1957

A special meeting of the Brooklyn Center Park Board was held
at the Village Hall at 8:00 P.M., Friday, August 2, 1957.
Members present were Paul Bullen, Dallas Lawrence, and Frank Irvin.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
Miles Proctor represting Winston Brothers, met with the Board to discuss
possible developments of park property in Garden City and future utilization
of the triangular property located at 59th and Humboldt Avenue North.
A discussion of the possible acquisition of all or part of the Cahlander
property was held with Mr. Cahlander. No official action was taken.
Written proposals for a park study were reviewed by members of the Board.
It was agreed that the Board meet with the Mayor and Village Council
before preceeding with the project.
Motion by Irvin, seconded by Lawrence, that the Board purchase a
basketball backstop to be installed at 61st and France Avenue North.
Motion carried.
The meeting wqs adjourned.
