HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996-169 CCRadoption: Member Kristen Mann introduced the following resolution and moved its RESOLUTION NO. 96 -169 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING (OVERTIME) PROJECT WHEREAS, the Department of Public Safety is sponsoring a Community Oriented Policing (Overtime) Project and will supply funding to cities for approved programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center is requesting approval to enter into an agreement with the Department of Public Safety for the Community Oriented Policing (Overtime) Project; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has submitted an application requesting funds totaling $27,900 for the implementation of two programs within the Community Oriented Policing (Overtime) Project; and WHEREAS, the two programs will be a fall warrant blitz and the expansion of crime free multi- housing and neighborhood watch groups; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that: 1. The City of Brooklyn Center be authorized to enter into a cooperative agreement with the Department of Public Safety for the Community Oriented Policing (Overtime) Project. 2. That Michael McCauley as City Manager is authorized to sign as authorized official. 3.
