HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-206 CCR1 1 Member Debra Hilstrom moved its adoption: RESOLUTION REQUESTING MN /DOT FOR A LIMITED USE PERMIT TO ALLOW CONSTRUCTION OF A BICYCLE /PEDESTRIAN TRAIL ON MN /DOT RIGHT OF WAY WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center desires to construct a bicycle /pedestrian trail in association with the new City storm water detention pond and park located in the southwest quadrant of I -94 and Brooklyn Boulevard; and WHEREAS, a portion of said trail would be located on land owned by Mn/DOT and used as interstate right of way; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Sec. 161.434 provides the Commissioner of Transportation with the authority to approve the use of right of way lands for certain purposes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: 1. The City of Brooklyn Center hereby requests the Commissioner of Transportation to approve a Limited Use Permit providing for the purpose of constructing, maintaining, and operating a bicycle /pedestrian trail within Mn/DOT right of way in the southwest quadrant of I -94 and Brooklyn Boulevard. 2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute S. P. 2786 (94 =393) 901 on behalf of the City of Brooklyn Center.
