Member Barb Kalligher introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 94 -258
RESOLUTION AMENDING THE 1994 AND 1995 GENERAL FUND
BUDGET TO CARRY FORWARD APPROVED APPROPRIATIONS IN THE
AMOUNT OF $500 FOR INITIAL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH POLICE
MOBILE DIGITAL TERMINALS (MDT'S)
WHEREAS, Section 7.08 of the City Charter does provide the City Council with
the authority to appropriate funds from accumulated surplus in an amount equal to a previous
appropriation in the General Fund Budget, if not in fact expended or encumbered for that
purpose in the previous fiscal years; and
WHEREAS, the expenditure for initial costs associated with MDT's for the police
department was approved at the November 28, 1994, City Council Meeting and
WHEREAS, the police department is unable to receive the MDT hardware until
the first part of 1995; and
WHEREAS, the police department is requesting the appropriations be carried
forward to the 1995 Budget; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Brooklyn Center that:
1. The 1994 General Fund Budget be amended for amounts to be carried
forward to 1995 as follows:
a. Reduce the estimated revenues of the Transfers from Fund Balance
Account by $500.
b. Reduce the appropriations of the police department by $500.
2. The 1995 General Fund Budget be amended for amounts to be carried
forward from 1994 as follows:
a. Increase the estimated revenues of the Transfers from Fund
Balance Account by $500.
b. Increase the appropriations of the police department by $500.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
Kristen Mann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in
favor thereof:
Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Dave Rosene, Barb Kalligher, and Kristen Mann;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
