HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-107 CCRMember Lawrence -Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2024-107 RESOLUTION APPROVING TO OPT INTO THE CONSOLIDATED POOL FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROGRAM FUNDS WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center, through execution of a Joint Cooperation Agreement with Hennepin County, is cooperating in the Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center, has been notified by Hennepin County that they will no longer be continuing the Direct Allocation Community Development Block Grant program; and WHEREAS, the city of Brooklyn Center has a population below 50,000 and is not eligible to be become CDBG entitlement city; and WHEREAS, the city of Brooklyn Center has determined it will join the Hennepin County Consolidated Pool for community development block grant program funds starting July 1, 2025; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of Brooklyn Center approves opting into the Consolidated Pool starting with the 2025 program year for the Urban Hennepin County Community Development Block Grant Program. October 28 2024 Date e ATTEST: Assistant City Manager/City Clerk Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Graves and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Butler, Graves, Jerzak, Kragness, Lawrence -Anderson and the following voted against the same: none whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
