HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-104 CCR1 Member Celia Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 94 -104 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR JAMES /KNOX/ 54TH AVENUES IMPROVEMENTS, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS. 1994 -01 AND 1994 -02, CONTRACT 1994 -E WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project Nos. 1994 -01 and 1994 -02, bids were received, opened, and tabulated by the City Clerk and Engineer, on the 17th day of May, 1994. Said bids were as follows: Bidder Bid Amount Thomas Sons Construction Northdale Construction Brown Cris, Inc. S.R. Weidema, Inc. C.S. McCrossan Construction W. B. Miller, Inc. $395,447.05 $418,320.56 $459,493.69 $497,170.04 $497.648.73 $523,271.30 WHEREAS, it appears that Thomas Sons Construction, Inc. of Rogers, Minnesota, is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that: 1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Thomas Sons Construction, Inc. of Rogers, Minnesota in the name of the City of Brooklyn Center, for Improvement Project Nos. 1994 -01 and 1994 -02 according to the plans and specifications therefor approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 94 -104 ATTEST: 3.
