HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-134 CCR1 1 1 Member Kristen Mann moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 94 -134 introduced the following resolution and RESOLUTION APPOINTING NANCY GOHMAN AS RESPONSIBLE AUTHORITY FOR PURPOSES OF THE MINNESOTA GOVERNMENT DATA PRACTICES ACT WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 13.02, Subdivision 16, as amended, requires that the City of Brooklyn Center appoint one person as the Responsible Authority to administer the requirements for collection, use, and dissemination of any set of data on individuals, government data, and summary data within the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center City Council is concerned with the responsible use of City data and wishes to satisfy this concern by immediately appointing an administratively qualified Responsible Authority as required under the Act; and WHEREAS, City Manager Gerald Splinter was appointed Responsible Authority by the City Council on October 5, 1981, and has served as Responsible Authority since that time; and WHEREAS, on July 11, 1994, Nancy Gohman was appointed to the position of Assistant City Manager /Personnel Coordinator for the City of Brooklyn Center, and the City Manager recommends Nancy Gohman be assigned to perform the duties of the Responsible Authority for the City of Brooklyn Center, and the City Council desires to formally appoint Nancy Gohman as Responsible Authority. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center that Assistant City Manager /Personnel Coordinator Nancy Gohman be appointed as Responsible Authority for the purposes of meeting all requirements of the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minnesota Statutes Section 13.02 through 13.87, as amended. July 11, 1994 Date ATTEST: Deputy Clerk Todd Paulson, Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Celia Scott and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Dave Rosene, and Kristen Mann; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
