HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-122 CCR1 1 1 Member Celia Scott resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 93 -122 introduced the following RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL TO ENTER INTO A JOINT AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE FORMATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE HENNEPIN -ANOKA SUBURBAN DRUG TASK FORCE WHEREAS, the City believes drug abuse and related criminal activities are an important law enforcement problem to be addressed within the community; and WHEREAS, the nature of drug law enforcement does not lend itself to jurisdictional boundaries; and WHEREAS, the City recognizes resource shortages which make effective, organized drug enforcement difficult on a jurisdiction -by- jurisdiction basis; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center deems this joint powers agreement to be desirable and within 1994 budget requests. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to enter into a joint and cooperative agreement for the formation and administration of the Hennepin -Anoka Suburban Drug Task Force. August 9, 1993 ATTEST: Ink. ?II Deputy Clerk Date Todd Paulson, Mayor The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kristen Mann and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Dave Rosene, Barb Kalligher, and Kristen Mann; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
