RESOLUTION NO. 92 -275
introduced the following
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO A JOINT AND COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE
FORMATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE HENNEPIN -ANOKA
SUBURBAN DRUG TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the City believes that drug abuse, and related
criminal activities are an important law enforcement problem to be
addressed within the community; and
WHEREAS, the nature of drug law enforcement does not lend
itself to jurisdictional boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes resource shortages which
make effective, organized drug enforcement difficult on a
jurisdiction by jurisdiction basis; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove, Coon
Rapids, and Anoka all agree with these premises and propose a joint
powers agreement for the formation and administration of a drug
task force; and
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center deems this joint
powers agreement to be desirable and within 1993 budget requests.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center to authorize the Mayor and City Manager to
